Qualified Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) under U.K. Athletics
I started to run using the C25K plan, shortly after joined a running club. I moved from that club as I didn’t feel like I could keep up with the others and was worried about the pace that was expected of me. Shouting 8 minute miles won’t make me do it!
I then discovered Stoke FIT at Hanley Parkrun and noticed the support they gave to their runners. Took the chance and went along, I’ve never looked back since and was the best move I made.
Stoke FIT has helped me both enormously. Helping me through the worst part of my life in the lead up to and the death of my husband. Being there when I needed an escape to run, helping me when I broke down and supporting me with my running challenges. They’re all an amazing group of FITties.
I’ve taken on the role of C25K mentor, successfully helping (along with another leader) a group of people through the 9 week plan. Seeing them develop from non-runners into new Stoke FIT runners.
Stoke FIT is a perfect running club for all. I love being a part of this club, it encourages, motivates, supports and nurtures you to be the best you can be. You’re never left alone and never made to feel like you’re under-pressure to be something you’re not.
